Margot Robbie is the highest-paid female film star in Hollywood after her salary for Greta Gerwig’s live-action Barbie movie was revealed. The Aussie star, 32, was paid $12.5million (£10.47million) – the same as Ryan Gosling in the highly-anticipated film based on the Mattel doll, Variety reported.
They ranked equal 16th on Variety’s newest list of Hollywood’s top earners. Robbie is being paid more than her reported $10million (£8.38million) salary for her 2020 Suicide Squad spin-off Birds Of Prey.
Although Robbie topped the list for female movie stars, British star Millie Bobby Brown wasn’t far behind her and came in as the second highest-paid actress. The 18-year-old was paid $10million (£8.38million) for her starring role in Enola Holmes 2.
Meanwhile, Tom Cruise landed top of the list thanks to his blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick in which he both starred in and produced. The 60-year-old is expected to make more than $100million (£83.8million) from his salary, ticket sales and a cut of home entertainment rentals and streaming revenue, according to the report.
